Appraisal is the shared responsibility of teachers and school leaders; therefore, the major questions of the inquiry cycle are framed in terms of “we”.
The additional reflective questions, which support both individual and collective inquiry into the impact of teaching on student learning, are also a shared responsibility.

Finally, the responsibility of setting and working towards high aspirations for Māori students is shared with parents, whānau, iwi, and students themselves. At times, then, the ‘we’ is also intended to include this wider group.
