Appraisal is the shared responsibility of teachers and school leaders, and so the major questions of the inquiry cycle are framed in terms of “we”. So too are the additional reflective questions, which support both individual and collective inquiry into the impact of teaching on student learning.

The responsibility of setting and working towards high aspirations for Māori students is shared with parents, whānau, iwi, and students themselves. At times, then, the ‘we’ is also intended to include this wider group.
